Alex reviews ROCK THE PRESIDENTS!

I was excited.  It was my first time being a kid reporter.  I felt happy because you can’t just go and sign up to be a reporter.  I was picked from a number of kids at Childsplay and I feel honored.

We went to the Tempe Center for the Arts where they have their plays.  We walked in and Ms. Samantha was waiting for us.  We took a few photos.  There was a wooden cut out that looked like Mt. Rushmore.  We got to put our faces into the cutouts to make it look like we were the presidents.

The next thing we did was go into the theater.  The play set was beautiful with the big eagle in front.  Before the play started, I was introduced as a kid reporter.  It was a little strange with all the people looking at me.  I also felt excited.

Then the show began.  I liked the play because they have a lot of singing and dancing in it.  They also do a great job acting.  It was fun and you were learning at the same time.  I truly loved the show and the comedy in it.

I learned some things about the presidents.  One of them loved soda so much he put a soda fountain in the White House.  I also learned that presidents can be voted into office twice.  I liked the song “Are You a President-to-Be?”  I like the lyrics since they are happy.  You can be president when you grow up.

At the end, everyone left except for me and some other people.  We went back stage.  I got to see some of the projectors that show the videos during the play.  Then I got to go to the dressing room and talk with the actors.

I interviewed all of them at the same time.  Eric started acting in college.  He was first in Footloose.  He was in Lyle the Crocodile and The Neverending Story for Childsplay.  He does a vampire show.  He was also in a show called Octopus.  Alexandra started acting when she was 14 in summer camp at Phoenix Theatre.  She was also in Spring Awakening.  Colin started acting when he was in high school and he did four to five shows a year.  His favorite play in high school that he was in was Man of LaMancha.  He was in The Miracle Worker in college.  He was also in Ferdinand the Bull and Lyle the Crocodile.  They are all really nice and talented.

When I was done, I took a picture with the cast.  It was a great opportunity I will never forget. Rock the Presidents is a really good show.
